How this fits into the "plot", I'm assuming the Perpetual Testing Initiative happened in the 70's before Cave died. And them finding a universe made of money is how Aperture was able to stay afloat despite obviously going bankrupt.[/spoiler]

Of course, I'm also assuming these lines are just dis-canon jokes and have no bearing into the overall plot of the Portal universe.
