New Map Editor, TF2 Halloween, and Looking For Staff

PreviousPage 5 of 6Next

Fullbrights? Hmm... I don't think so. I mean I would imagine a light icon in the new map editor.

Crazy is as crazy does.

By the looks of it, it will only have the light panles seen in the clean chambers.

I think he meant "pantsless".

Anyway, I agree with iWork that it will probably be limited to the clean style, since that's the easiest to implement.

It would also seem logical if the editor worked with VMF files directly, since their internal structure is much simpler than BSPs. (Heck, you can even edit one with Notepad, if you're so inclined.)

The way I imagine it, there will be a "play map" button somewhere in the editor interface, which will save a VMF, run it through the compile process like any other map, and then automatically launch the resulting BSP.

Either that, or they use some po-edit like contraption where prefabbed blocks are placed in-game (with no need to compile), and it saves the placement of those blocks in its own proprietary format.
(Please let that not be true.)

There was this guy I knew who always spelled "Panels" p-a-n-l-e-s in my laser tech class in high school. It was very annoying to correct his constant spelling mistake of Panels. And now it's back in my mind after 4 years.

'Laser tech'? Why does everywhere else get to have the weird and wonderful classes?

Probably because the high school had a Career Center right next to it to take those "weird and wonderful classes." I don't know how many high schools have Career Center buildings right next to them. I even took a welding class over there. And teachers over there are nice too. The Career Center may be the only spec of light during my grade school days.
