Who's Marie Antoinette?Marie Antoinette November 1755 - 16 October 1793) was an Archduchess of Austria from 1755 to 1770, a Dauphine of France from 1770 to 1774 and the Queen of France and of Navarre from 1774 to 1792. She was the fifteenth and penultimate child of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I. and Empress Maria Theresa.

@El; you're confused with marie curie, a french-polish physicist/chemists, one of the greatest scientists. The first person ever to win two Nobel Prizes for her work. Also she didn't discover uranium but she did discover polonium and radium, two other radioactive elements. She died of the effects of prolonged exposure to radiation in 1934.

(I realise those last few have sort-of narratives, but ones that can and should be ignored for the sake of general sanity). I don't think games based around pure combat mechanics are somehow intrinsically worth less than plot, character or theme driven pieces, or that Logic should be chided for his preference of the former - a sensibility that has clearly changed since, at any rate.I agree with him. hard as it may be to believe, some people's motive behind playing a game is to have fun. so whether one wants to fool around, or analyze details, it depends on one's idea of what's fun and interesting.
Simply enjoying eating in a fine restaurant on one hand, and analyzing what ingredients make the food there great on the other, it's entirely the consumer's prerogative, and neither side is idiotic (except to someone who deems all people having contrasting opinions as such, which would be rather narrow-minded in my opinion).

Your analogy is extremely flawed, and the whole point isn't analyzing details (who said that?)...
It's more like there's a class of gamers that wish we could eat at a finer restaurant more often, but the bulk of gamers are calling McDonalds the best meal they've ever had, so game companies keep serving them that and ignoring those of us who want to taste better food (read: push the artform, not the entertainment)

at confusing Marie Antoinette for Marie Curie. Reminds me of a time a friend of mine confused Lisa Frank for Anne Frank.
