Where did kizzmeister say that quote in your sig exactly? I'm assuming he hasn't kept up on current affairs if he thinks anyone "has me on a leash". Does shitstain realize we had, like, the Kizzycocoa Award during our last 2 contests? For the worst maps entered? In the 2011 contest? Because that was a thing.
Maybe brobro hasn't considered that the reason we don't have shitty WAT IS HAMMER WAT DO threads is because, I don't know, mission successful? That the culture of "bring your quality content, keep your rock bashing elsewhere" that I've worked to develop here has stuck? It's definitely not that we're nice to everyone who releases a map or can't figure out their own problems or vomits into Hammer and releases it. Probably my favorite "making fun of dumb people"-ism is newly registered users have the rank "i dont know what brush is but i herd it alot". That's real, I didn't make that up. That is a quote. I am literally offended at the notion that someone thinks I would listen and/or care if anyone - including Valve - told me to "play nice". Fuck that, fuck him, and fuck anyone who disagrees with me.

Wow sleeper! I had to check out all of those posts in order to at least figure out a minimum portion of where is all that explosion coming from, maddam! Well, I would like to say something here (and I urge to anyone who reads it to not take it as if I was sucking up to the boss...) All I know from this boss (sleeper) is that she is a damn bad-ass lady! Indeed I think many times she goes too hard on ppl, so that about the leash and stuff is a nonsense. I had to learn myself to be carefull with her btw and watch my tongue!
Said all that, I really think this is by far the best Portal game site and she, and the rest staff, is really doing an awesome work here. I am also sometimes a bit hard with some ppl, but only because they drive anyone crazy! I'm participating in the forum for 1 year only now... I can't wonder what does it has to be dealing each single day managing this site along all these years with such those many kinds of ppl coming & going...

Well, that was an interesting outburst to read. Not that I disagree with you or anything your completely in line for talking shit about him/her. By the look of things kizzy was acting as though you didn't know how to run the place and if that were the case then the site wouldn't be nearly as successful as it is today. I mean yes, at times there is crude language towards others but damn that is just life! There is an age old saying that goes "sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me. This is true so even if someone gets insulted that's no reason to hate on the ones who make the insult, that just complicates things.
I don't believe that Valve has leash on anyone. How could they? Are they going to ban the sites creator from her own site? I don't think so.
I personally know how frustrating it is to have someone act as though they know all and then overreact when they are told they are wrong. It annoys me to no end because they just try to carry it on and on.
To be honest I don't know whether or not I'm even going the right direction with this whole post. In fact I normally try to stray away from saying anything to most people with red or green names on this site in case I say something stupid and get myself hated banned or maybe even worse. Just like Jose I'm not trying to suck up to the boss around here, I'm just stating my personal opinion on the matter.

It always makes me laugh when people try to argue with the moderators/creator of a forum. I mean why do it? .... They have SO much more power then the simple "common" poster. There is always a GOOD reason why those people have ~become~ moderators. They were not just simply put into that position of power because they have lunch with the creator (or some other off-site friendly function thing)...

But, sometimes they need to be asked and shaken a bit too! They are just human afterall. If you don't agree with something the moderators/creator/other member has done then you should be asking why that did that, why they said that and thinking about your own responses. Are they being a d*ck to you because you were a big one to them first and didn't even notice?... I'll say now I've done this, here on these forums ((an entire argument with Fracture that they didn't deserve, just because I hated being called a nOOb?... well guess what... I'm a nOOb when it comes to Hammer!))
Also though, it does sometimes bring the question... who moderates the moderators? Who corrects the creator ?
I believe that anyone could really argue against msleeper if they wanted, if they had good reason to and good explanations for and against any statement...but, at the end of day it is her site! , and if you don't like the decisions made then go elsewhere! And let us not forget that the site is an unpaid, voluntary line of work... it takes a lot to run a site of this magnitude and it has become a site of this magnitude because of the people that are running it. Where would we all be without the site, the forums, the links, the d/l database, the help.
For someone to say that this site (and its creator) is "on a leash to Valve" is just so wrong. That person really doesn't get the site at all. The site pays homage and honours to Valve for a great game(s). But is by no means on a leash. If it were then, all the "little mistakes by Valve" that are mentioned wouldn't be here. All the ways to break/change/edit your Portal folders wouldn't be here. All the tweaks and help for doing things Hammer isn't meant to do wouldn't be here. HMW's entire puzzle creator editoritems hak stuff would be removed. (Because the editor/Hammer/Valve would be seen and shown to be perfect as it is!)... etc etc...
You can even bet that msleeper has argued against and possibly banned people FROM Valve on this site. We know that Valve hang out here too. Valve does this because the site is not biased to them, not on a leash, and most of the members show honest feedback. Which is great for Valve too. Helps them make better games and software. Possibly even saves them a ton of cash in aftermarket feedback and follow up too etc etc
Kizzy's status thing is possibly over the top, personally I wouldn't know. I've not had to deal with them. I trust the moderators/creator to know this though from dealing with them. But, if that happened to me I wouldn't be shouting and arguing at the person that did it. I'd be seriously asking myself how I could change my behaviour so it doesn't happen again!
Long story short we shouldn't be hating each other but trying to resolve differences and learn from past mistakes to become better people and better mappers. If your really not liking how someone is trying to help you, then apologise and leave gracefully before you get banned in shame.
Hiding in a hole won't help you either. It is ok to speak out but being blatently rude about it isn't the way to go.
Many times here I've seen people argue with posters that are trying to help them which then result in:
- The original problem not getting solved
- More problems being created
- Frustration
- Possible moderator interference and/or locking of threads
TWP however is a wonderful community and I love helping people out here. *Neurotoxin enabled*
