It's so simple.... But the lighting looks good. Depending on what you are going for, some fuse boxes or pipes might look good here and there.

Yeah, I'm going to need to find some way to make it look a little less boring.
Cubemaps will help, definitely, but Half-Life 2 doesn't seem to offer too many models that work with the theme I'm going for.

Hey well at least it's a little more interesting than a certain elevator I'm thinking of.

Try adding pipes, oil drums, maybe some burned out lights, dangling wires, etc.

The hallway looks really good. :) if you're going for a non-boring simplistic theme, i'd suggest some of the smaller white pipe models along the bottom half of the walls, and perhaps recess the lighting a little bit. and in the area with the water, i think adding a dull orange glow from under the water would fit pretty good.

That's because it isn't destruction, its an adaptation of the art therapy style, where parts of the chamber are missing because it is half finished.
