By the way, did anyone else notice the similarity between Lord Voldemort (from Harry Potter) and Lord Vader (from Star Wars)?

I think Rowling either consciously or subconsciously mirrored Voldemort's life to Darth Vader's.
They were both born with a humble background, and they both carried shame in their childhood. Consequent of this sense of shame, they hungered for power. They were both extraordinarily gifted, but they ended up abusing their talent.

Ultimately, what led to their downfall was their unquenchable thirst for power.

Indeed; when I write query letters, I find it a good practice to boil it down to a paragraph, and then the idea is that if someone asks you in person, you can give them a one-sentence summary.

On that note, any other aspiring writers here? Any of you do NaNoWriMo?
