I really like how this post explains nothing about its purpose, but is just a list of map features and associated categories.

This post makes no sense to me at all. At all.

I guess hes just trying to make a standard for ranking a custom maps difficulty.

Which could be handy, I guess. But the terminology should at least be based on the existing game, ie. "easy" would be the tutorial bits (1-12), "standard" the puzzly bits (13-18, maybe 19 too), "advanced" the advanced maps (sic) and then yes we may need further categories for maps that go far beyond the advanced maps.

And "requires" is such a strong word in a portal map to be honest. It would make more sense to say "can be solved by" (ie. making it a weaking binding) since many maps have "intended solutions" involving a set of tricks, but can be solved quicker/easier/funnier by other methods.

Remove portal tunneling from the list, because any map which requires tunneling is against the game's intentions and in my opinion, not worth playing.

Stong opinion, and this list isn't law, its just a suggestion.

Are you sure about that? I mean, the OP didn't qualify what the purpose, origin or rationale of the list was. For all we know it's intended to be the end-all authoritative list of rules that he, as Supreme Dictator of Portal, has drawn up for us worthless peons to abide by as if they were universal law.

Isn't it wrong discussing tunneling's part in Portal in this thread, there's already one about it...
And anyway, it's labeled "impossible" :P

Not thinking without portals at the very least...
