Hi there fellow test subjects--
Well, all of us here at TWP and the Aperture Science Community Outreach Development Department Specializing in Testchamber Design and Course Idea Submission (ASCODDSiTDaCIS) are proud to announce that the submission window has officially closed. That's right, if you're still working on your map it's a little late. Tragic. But informative! We want to thank you for all your participation on the forums, the site in general, and the effort that you've put into your maps. The staff and judges look forward to playing all 238-ish(!) entries, and we know we have some tough judgement ahead of us.

Too bad that the server timed out for uploads during the final stretch. I spent a good half an hour trying to submit the map with no luck. Obviously there's no shortage of entries, but would have been nice to actually see this through to completion. 
I'm not saying there's any excuse for not adhering to a posted deadline, but it's hard for some to budget enough time without having to worry about the website itself causing problems. Hopefully something that can be planned around if this type of contest ever happens again.
Wanted to say thanks for putting this on! I had grabbed the SDK but I don't think I would have actually put in the time without this kind of incentive. Also huge thanks to msleeper and everyone who's posted the tutorials and made things accessible to the masses! 
you also disabled upload for other categories too? Can't edit my map thats in the single releases category
gadzillar: try to upload it somewhere and send the link to them in a pm, maybe they accept if the filedate (bsp) in the zip is before the deadline

Unless the map is over 200mb then I don't know why you would be having problems.
To prevent people from editing or uploading new versions of their maps, all map editing is disabled for the time being. This will be lifted shortly.

Who in God's name could make a 200mb map?
Well done over 200 subjects! I feel sorry for you judges lol, this will take a long time to get through them all. But be glad I didn't post a Single Player map as well 
With no custom content allowed I would be highly surprised if anyone put the effort to do so. But you never know, could be possible.
if someone cant map effectively and the map itself is 50mb then with custom things and custom musics/sounds (using wav instead of mp3) it can be huge. Of course without custom things its max 50MB. Unless someone includes an 1 GB readme.txt
btw for the next contest, it should be better just to edit the forum/site engine to only disable/hide upload/edit if the map's category is "contest", so other uploads stay functional.
My Portal 1 "Portal 2 mappack", when every map was packratted, exceeded 200mb. (no way that went out like that so I just added the files spaned across each map and that drastically reduced size to about 110mb) granted that was P1 and it had a fuckton of custom content, but yes it is possible. I would link to it, but the rules say you need to upload anything to the site, and it's been awhile. Just go to mAL and search "Groxkiller's" and you'll find it. It isn't too pretty compared to my newer stuff tho.
