To neco - I finally managed to do that laser puzzle in part 3! I'd like to say I worked it out using my brain power, but to be honest
I just got angry and fired tons of shots at the wall and discovered it quite by accident. I think it's a great puzzle, but might seem a bit of a cheat to some seeing as that's the only surface of its kind in the room that behaves that way. If I were you I'd change all the identical surfaces in the room to act the same.
Quote from KennKong on April 25, 2012, 5:23 amI download v1.4 today, and made it through Part 3. I think I came pretty close to the intended solution in Part 1 this time. However, I still can't climb that damn funnel. I've seen others do it, but I need just another second or two on the timer. I finally cheated to get that done, so I could try solving the rest without the crazy move I used last time.
xSPmg8AMFDE
Part 2 is my blind playthrough, but it took me so long to get the first cube on the button, I edited a lot of the mucking about out. The total time to play it was 43 minutes. I think I'm pretty close to the intended solution on this one, too.
2R8dVJlHJPE
Part 3 is my blind playthrough as well, but I screwed up so many times I had to edit more than an hour (total playtime was 1:42:57) of repeated failures to make it remotely watchable. I seriously doubt that I found the intended solutions on this one. I never did figure out the 3 dot laser, and finished the room without it.
IzDXs_STR1A
Tomorrow I'll take a crack at part 4.

Nope, that must be some other version. In the latest version he added fizzlers to the surface KennKong used to fling/funnel the cube to button 4.
He added those in v3, but for some reason he decided to remove them when he added the lasers to the floor panel in v4, meaning it's still possible to get over there without doing the laser puzzle. Haven't watched KennKong's vid (having problems with Youtube for some reason) but I made my own demo of v4:reallysorryneco.zipMy suggestions for neco:
Either
a) Make it so that completing the laser puzzle removes the death lasers on the floor panel
or
b) Put those fizzlers back.I think option a is probably the best aesthetically, as I didn't really like the look of those fizzlers, but either one would do the trick.
I think.
Quote from neco on April 25, 2012, 1:15 pmOh okay sorry guys and gals! I have to apologise for that stupidity on my part.
As I've mentioned before this was really a bad date to upload the map. I just wanted to get rid of it in terms of being able to concentrate on things that changed in my life and daily routine.
I am far to confused to make things right these days.
I am just about to compile and upload the fifth version. I couldn't have imagined that such a stupid flaw would bring me down that much.
Thank you for bearing with me...

Quote:Outstanding Map Pack neco! While I am still very new to the group here, I've played many of the maps available and have found these offerings to be the most challenging so far.Glad you liked it rock_n_rage, as you might have noticed I've had quite some problems with 274 hope you don't mind downloading "the latest version v5".

Quote:Neco: Incredibly complex map - and a masterwork to look at as well. I only needed the occasional "hint" (thanks to the P-2 guru's for the hints, videos and demo) to get through the map without spending days attempting to sort out the puzzles. I also had to noclip a cube once as I am a pathetic cube tosser...
Enjoyed it immensely as I found it all readily playable - exotic moves were not really necessary. I still look forward to seeing your intended path in due course... Thanks for creating. Thanks for playing quatrus, actually there is no puzzle which requires cube tossing if solved as intended. I will upload some dem-files as soon as I find the time to. Promised!
@ El Farmerino
As far as I can see that said panel is indeed different from the others; trying to give a hint that there actually is a left and a right side. All other panels are devided by four. I might try to emphasise that by using a different texture, though.
@KennKong
Thanks for the vids again.
I have watched your attempt for 272 and again have to say that the intended solution doesn't require to climb up with the cube. There is a different way of bringing the cube up.
I will upload some dem-files as soon as I find the time to. You'll see that also other ninja moves aren't required (That also goes for the last part of 273). Keep in mind that I am a really bad portal player! And that's no fishing for compliments but the truth!!!

Did you re-label dots 3 & 4 in one of your updates? I know you had said they were reversed in the first version. If I'm seeing correctly, the laser puzzle should be before the block button.
