Oh okay sorry guys and gals! I have to apologise for that stupidity on my part.
As I've mentioned before this was really a bad date to upload the map. I just wanted to get rid of it in terms of being able to concentrate on things that changed in my life and daily routine.
I am far to confused to make things right these days.
I am just about to compile and upload the fifth version. I couldn't have imagined that such a stupid flaw would bring me down that much.
Thank you for bearing with me...

Happens to us all, and the only reason we've been coming up with these kinds of workarounds is because it's a bloody good puzzle in the first place. All in all it's an outstanding mappack that deserves all the recognition it can get.

In fact, having played through it thoroughly and found what I think are all the intended solutions, my only real problem with it is that I'm insanely jealous of your mad mapping skills.

So you found a way to aim the laser into the receiver before moving on?

I'll download and give it a go when I get home from the office this evening. Did you re-label dots 3 & 4 in one of your updates? I know you had said they were reversed in the first version. If I'm seeing correctly, the laser puzzle should be before the block button.

Yes I did, they should have the correct order now. First activate the laser catcher and then place the cube on the floor button. Thanks for pointing that out!

And I'm jealous of your playing skills. Would make me a better mapper ;)

If I got him right, yes he did.

I've downloaded v5 and think I've gotten pretty close to activating the dot 3 lazor!

Spoiler
I have a portal on the panel originally used to move the light bridge around with the second portal on the left half of the double panel intended to move the funnel around the room. It looks like there is some kind of countdown for the catcher, which I learned when I had the laser aimed at the wall with the catcher. After standing on it and backing up, I was able to balance the cube to point the beam at the catcher. I was only able to make it to #2, once. After seeing Neco point out several times that no ninja skills were required, I moved on to where I'm at now.

I started playing Part 4 before I realized you had released v1.5. Before that, I replayed Part 3, and I did solve the laser puzzle this time.

This is my blind playthrough, which took me 1:20:17 to finish. To be merciful, I edited out repeated failures, and one very long stretch while I searched for 3 dots in the main room. The connection between the button at the bottom and the door at the top was a surprise to me. I could have made this even shorter, but I decided to leave in some of my more comical failures, and one little glitch that occured with the cube in the funnel. I'm somewhat confident I found the intended solutions, except that in the laser room I didn't use the laser cube in the box on the pillar.

The Ledge, Part 4 blind playthroughembedded

EDIT: While replaying Part 4 (room 276) on version 1.5, I encountered a fatal glitch. In the same place that the cube got stuck at the end of the funnel in the video, I accidentally dropped it on top of the Aperture sign. I could see no way to dislodge the cube from there.

I've read your comments to me and others about climbing the funnel in Part 1. I can't do it with or without the cube. The method I'm using (which worked for zivi7) is no more difficult with the cube, so why not take it with you? I couldn't figure a way to get the cube up there after I was up there, anyway. I guess I'll feel pretty stupid when I see the intended solution.

Overall, the scope and strength of the puzzles in this make this a solid 5 contender. But the visual clutter and obstructed sight lines made finding things in this a real bear at times. The erector set theme is well done and consistent throughout, except for all the glass walls that you just can't see. For such an open map in most places, I actually felt cramped for maneuvering room most of the time. If it were just that I didn't like it (not the case), I wouldn't dock you a point for it, but I really feel it gets in the way a lot. However, any map that encourages me to pound away at it for three days to finish it earns a bonus point. 5/5 from me.

Well, I cannot wait the facepalm moment when neco releases his intended way of getting the first cube on the button or solving 272 but until then I want to share some other ways of doing it.

Spoiler
First clip shows how you can place the cube on the upper panel, the second shows how you can grab it while at the top of the room and the third clip shows how you can get the cube inside the cage without having to all the climbing.

Getting the cube on top of the tower panel is quite clever. I tried that, but the cube fizzled. I see how you carefully rolled the cube into the portal, that may be the critical movement. I got myself up there that way, left a portal behind and then put the cube up there.

I believe the following move to get the cube to the top platform may very well be the intended solution. You could probably get the player up there that way too, but then you wouldn't have the funnel to work with.

That last move is definitely an exploit. I tried many ways to hit that portal up there, but I never thought to stand in the middle of a death grille to do it. You are a mapper's worst nightmare :notworthy:

Thanks KennKong. :notworthy: Well after I watched one of your vids you actually inspired me with that one with the rolling cube thing, turns out the cube landed perfectly on top of the panel every time. Yeah getting the cube to the top platform looks legit but remember, neco said there's a reason the funnel window is open...

Oooookay, stuck on map 1. Finally got the cube to the top with me, but I have NO clue what to do from here. I really don't want to resort to watching a walkthrough, but a poke in the right direction would be nice. I know I have to get it into the room on the first floor with the moon button, but I can't figure it out for the life of me.

There are several different ways to do it, but most of them involve the one tool in the room that you can use to hold a cube in place while you have enough time to go into the room first...
