[SP] Da-MaSK (Chander's Test 12 remix by josepezdj)
Quote from sicklebrick on December 27, 2012, 12:06 pmHeheh, loving Shakky's 2:20 and final moves, and Grey's ceiling fling across the big gap (nice way to gain some forward momentum there) and that last floor portaled cube..
This whole uninteded solution thing is pretty awesome.

Thanks for the new video though Shakky
I loved the music!

4-1 it is.

Probably my favourite jump I've done so far.
I didn't record all the gel setup but I think you can see how everything was done.
It's your move I guess.

Quote from RogerL on December 27, 2012, 10:58 pmAll of these unintended solutions have been fun to watch, but, really, all you show is what everyone already knows: white gel breaks maps. How about putting some effort into finding the intended solution? It's surprising to me that through several iterations of Chander's original map and several of josepezdj's that no one has yet found it.

Thanks RogerL for your comments. Indeed, yesterday I told Shakky the same on steam 'what about finding the intended solution?' but I guess they have their point. They prefer to play that way because it's funnier. And when a map based in gels comes out I bet they get incredibly excited thinking about how many ways there are to break it
Also Shakky told me that it's better to do this at first moments because once the intended solution has been found, ppl lose interest... and that's true...
It's difficult to prevent all those ninja moves in advance, the reason is that I'm not one of them, so many of those crazy jumps would be impossible for me even training! But it's fine... I'm not taking this battle in an offensive way, everyone here does his part and we're all having fun
. In fact I like how they are uncovering little spots where the map is weak, because I can make it more perfect. That last video by Shakky is great too
Tbh I was waiting for someone who could use that right part to do something unintended, I knew you could paint that wall in front of the glass wall but I thought that part was still strong... it was a truly amazing move
About the final jump, Shakky, this time you deserve an big laserfield on the ceiling
My main problem against these ninjas is that I am almost at the max allowed level for models and entities! I have to think calmly my next move without making the map crash because of "no free edicts"

Quote from quatrus on December 28, 2012, 10:27 amI generally like to hunt out the intended solutions in maps, however, it has been most frustrating in this map. The up/down is tedious - at least for what I am trying. I've also painted the upper chamber to drop the cube ala Chander, although there is another drop on method - timing on both is tight for me. Painting the drop down panel makes getting to the back chambers easier. Now I am tring to figure out an intended solution for getting over to the exit platform. Generally I try to stay away from such complex/hard maps as I get hooked and spend too much time on them once I get started...

Quote from josepezdj on December 28, 2012, 10:57 amThe map is updated again. This is version 1.4. Hopefully all those crazy ninja jumps to the final ledge are prevented now
There is more glass (again) to prevent certain surfaces from being painted.
I must say I'm so sorry for all these continues updates since I guess you'll have to restart to paint it all over from scratch...
Quatrus, thanks for continuing on, I'm glad you got hooked on it
Let me insist, the required up/down times are 6 or 7 as much... and it all only takes about 5 minutes; I don't really think it is that tedious for a map this big, do maybe you are trying another new interesting approach
quatrus wrote:I've also painted the upper chamber to drop the cube ala ChanderHmmm... that approach is more 'ala Markiu' than 'ala Chander' if I may say... hehehe. Again, there's no need to paint all that upper chamber
my approach only requires you to paint a bit (like 128x128 units) the floor near the button... Chander's approach doesn't require even a single bit of paint there!
Please move on to the new version. BSP available in the map's description

Well, about this last one, I have to say I was a bit careless with those frames! I have trigger_paint_cleansers in all the rest of frames (because there are a lot and they can be painted blue allowing you to jump on them), but I simply forgot those side grate frames.
However, the jump to skip part 1 is pretty legit, even though ninja
Map updated to v1.5
