Just when I think I understand the system, it changes on me.

Have you tried renaming the map for example sp_a2_sdksdjf?

Some times the game just likes to reject custom maps because they're "named incorrectly", not sure if it applies to single player too, but it's Portal 2 and it breaks constantly, so it isn't pointless to try everything.

Did all that just now, and I don't think that got me anywhere. It keeps saying something about an eggbot model that i dont think i even used

erm? was this a coop map? Coop maps MUST ALWAYS start with mp_coop_ because else they might glitch!!!

models/player/eggbot/eggbot_skin_WCC.mdl that's just one of the skins voor p-body; called eggbot in the textures :P

it is definitely not a coop map, I didn't put a single coop item in it.....that i am aware of

i bet by some shear accident i used that texture on something by mistake somewhere

Strange. Even though there are too much models the map should still run. Have you already verified the cache?

I guess you could also try to cordon parts of the map and see where it starts the oddity.

edit: I looked up the eggbot model and texture and according to hammer, they are not present anywhere in my map at all

You basically seal parts of the map and the parts outside won't be compiled at all. That's kind of useful for trying to find a malfunctioning entity etc.

oh..... I just select and press 'H' for hide. it pretty much does the same thing. And after having just tried this, the error now mentions another one of eggbots items that isn't even in my map.

Yes, it does.

Hmm, have you used instances or something odd for spawning the player? I guess the game thinks it's a co-op map when it's not.
