I can't get this stupid sound to play!

this is so frustrating

trigger_multiple
Output -> onstarttouch -> Sound01 -> playsound
Output -> onendtouch -> Sound01 -> stopsound
Flags: clients is checked

Sound01 is an ambient_generic
default settings
Sound name d3_citadel.shield_touch_loop
Flags: start silent is checked

typing in developer2 it reports

(36.61) output: (trigger_multiple,) -> (sound,PlaySound)()
(36.61) input : sound01.PlaySound()
Blocking load of scene from 'scenes/chell/idle.vcd'

why is it blocking it if thats what its doing?

I'm very confused.

only have portal.fdg in the options, not sure if that matters but I would really appreciate help -_-

the sound works if I load the map in HL2, can anyone tell me how I get a HL2 sound to work in portal? that seems to be the problem... -_-

If the sound isn't in the shared GCF (which it sounds like it isn't), extract the sound from the relevant GCF and put it in your /portal/sounds directory.
