The texture defines which wall you can or cannot shoot a portal onto. Look around because there is probably a similar texture with the noportal flag on.

did it, without putting ports on metal. cool map, is the end where you fall into nothing?? takes a long time to walk all around though. hope to see some crazy flinging tricks soon.
net map to showcase the fling technique. i actually had to use portal tunneling at one part, which i don't think is what you intended. there is a lot of unnecessary space that should be cut (the long hallway to the final puzzle, for example), and you need to fix that massive leak at the end (although it does make it clear that that is the end of the map, i think it is what is responsible for the massive file size, and looks ugly).
as a temporary method to achieve non-portable surface, cover all of them with a glass texture.
Also did it without metal surfaces, without portal tunneling. I think a lot of places you meant to be used for flinging can be done without.
And the end, wasn't really an end :p
