I don't think that the Steam Workshop will make this site obsolete. The forums are a great spot to ask for help. Also, I don't know if you'll be able to upload maps not made in Hammer to the Steam Workshop.

Yea, that's a really stupid opinion to have. There's nothing like actually being able to talk to a community of people with the same interest. Having localized file uploads just makes it easier for us to play more/different maps from people that might not be part of the community and discuss them here...
If nothing else, I can't wait for the Workshop so I can get rid of the shitty download system we have and move to something 1.) that I don't have to pay for the download bandwidth and 2.) that isn't written by some German with zero understanding of English.
