Blocking turret fire

What objects is it possible to block the fire from a turret with? I wanted to make a map that requires you to use a chair, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to do it.

Chairs actually don't offer all that good cover against bullets, if you think about it.

Go play Return to Castle Wolfenstein if you don't believe me.

I would draw inspiration from Episode 1 where you crawl through vents full of Combine balls and you have a small door that's larger than your profile as cover. But it had a little window so it was basically a riot shield, except not rigged.

I figured out a way around: use a computer as a shield instead.

Downed turrets also work.
