Where do i find all the existing sounds?

In hammer, when i preview a sound, some of them don't work. Where can I find where these are saved so I can preview them in VLC? Specifically, it is the vo sounds.

You can use GCFScape to extract and preview all sounds from the game.
Run GCFScape, click Open>*Steamsteamappscommonportal 2portal2pak01_dir.vpk

Open the sound folder and listen to/extract whatever you need. I'm having trouble running the /vo files with winamp, but wmp and vlc does it for me.

You can also see and preview the sounds in Hammer. Place an ambient_generic and go to select it's sound, and you can search and preview all of the game sounds from there.

Actually not all the sounds work in hammer. But they will in Portal 2.
