I usually practice my spy skills on offline expert mode. I am too good at being a spy, but I need a better ISP so people won't recognize my 1744 lag.

Crazy is as crazy does.

I play tf2 alot, and I'm best at Spy, Sniper, and Medic. (Or all of the support classes.) I also map for it. I got my start from tf2maps.net, if you're interested in tf2 mapping, check it out! :-D

I have only just started researching tutorials etc for TF2 mapping.

I suggest that you download A Boojom Snark's Ultimate Mapping Resource Pack . It's very useful, and makes tf2 mapping alot easier. The installer even has its own tf2 cookie theme which I'm quite proud of becuase I'm the one who started it.

Is it true that you can get money for making TF2 maps?

Yes, If Valve buys it, and it becomes official. In fact about 1/2 of all official tf2 maps are made by the Community. You can tell if the map name has _final at the end. It should also tell whoever made it in the loading screen. EDIT: Even pl_barnblitz is communtiy made!

Barnblitz is actually Valve-made. ;) But yes, there are a lot of community-made maps in the game, and the makers can get between $2000 and $5000 from what I've heard. Custom models and such used in the map also net some $$$ for the creators. It takes a lot of effort to make a map of high enough quality to get added though.

I will echo the recommendation of the Ultimate Mapping Resource Pack. It makes mapping at least 50% easier (which isn't to say it's easy, not by a longshot, but you will be able to build your map without having to program many of the gameplay entities - they'll be ready-made for you to place into your environment).

There is no "N" in "Turret."

Nope.

iikka: no, barnblitz is from the community

iikka is a valve employe, he made Badlands and Hydro. 8)

Very strange that he says Barnblitz is community-made, given that both The TF2 Wiki and Valve themsevles say it's Valve-made...
