Team Fortress 2

Page 1 of 3Next

Heya there,

Just wondering. How many of you wonderful members play Team Fortress 2?

I myself am a free-to-play user of TF2 but purchased a small item in-game to enable trading etc. I am guessing most of you would be users that paid for the game prior to it's free-to-play stage.

If you play TF2...maybe we could play in a server together? Over the next two and a half weeks I have like nothing to do due to Uni not starting until around the 21st.

Also, if you do play TF2...what class do you play? I am still in the knack of trying to get used to playing each class etc. I have played Solider, Demoman and also Engineer...but at the moment I am getting to grips with Pyro.

I got it with the Orange Box back in the day. Love it. I play mostly/am best as Spy, Sniper and Engineer.

Been playing since the Spy/Sniper update. Play mostly as Spy and Demoman.

I got the Orange Box back in mid '08, but didn't try out TF2 until late that year. It's kind of an on-again, off-again thing for me in recent times - sometimes I'll play a lot, other times I won't touch it for weeks on end. I'm trying to get back into it though.

I like the classes that can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time without requiring perfect precision, so I'll usually pick Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, or Heavy based on the current composition of my team and my current mood. Been playing Heavy a lot lately, but I'm finding myself gravitating towards Demo more and more as time goes on. Occasionally I'll go Engineer or Sniper if there's room to do so and it would benefit the team. I used to play predominantly Medic, and still use him rarely, but the servers I play on usually already have 1+ Medics at any given moment.

There is no "N" in "Turret."

I used to play more last year, but moved on to other games.

When I did, my favorite classes were the Scout and the Engineer. Occasionally I play the Soldier.

Ironically, I suck as a Medic.

Hah. Medic is relatively simple, though. Enable the medigun's automatic beam option and stick with the heavier classes (while keeping an eye out for medic calls). Use your bonesaw for incoming spies (it'll be obvious because they are creeping up on your heavy) and syringe for support power (it actually packs a punch). Uber when you're pushing a major point/choke or when you feel you won't survive (better to use it at the wrong time than to not use it and die  ).

The hardest part about medic is being the target of the enemy team, so LoSing and constant movement are good habits to develop. Otherwise, it's a pretty straight forward class.

Thanks guys. Satchmo...that irony of you not being able to play a medic well gave me a little chuckle.

I have been researching into the spy, and found out that it is a bit of a noob class to play...unless you know how to play it well with the right weapons etc. Many a times have I been playing a Soldier and a spy walks in front or towards me, and I make them go...splat.

I am still trying to get used to the pyro in the fact of using the air blast to deflect rockets.

Whoa... are you my clone or something?

Not in cruelty
Not in wrath
The REAPER came today
An angle visited this grey path
And took the cube away

It's the filthy spy!

Crazy is as crazy does.

The spy can be quite situational. In the wrong hands, it's more worthless than an AFK player, in the right hands, it is a devious asset to the team. I have about 200 hours clocked in as spy, including stat resets, and it is fundamentally a class about constant movement, timing and patience. Although learning it can be horrifically frustrating at times, it is highly rewarding and, when you invest enough time, destructive to the enemy team.

Stabbystabby is one of our longest playing spy veterans, and I'll let this video speak for his talents -
