[SP] Sp The Part Where

PreviousPage 2 of 2

I meant moving atlas. It was most annoying when Bunnyhopping, considering he kept going click every time I jump. Nice Easter eggs. How many are there in total?

Dude - awesome. Took me a while to figure out how to get the beam to hit the laser - and yes I kept stepping on the damn faith plate. But it was a lot of fun and a great Willie-Wonka sort of factory-like environment. Hats off bro

I'm going through all of the maps that I played for the contest and post my rating and comments.
It may be a bit out of date if you have updated your map since then, but hopefully it's useful feedback nonetheless.

The visual design of this map is very good. I especially like how the playing area extends to the various winding walkways around the chambers. (Or what's left of them after extensive home-improvement-by-moron action.) On one hand the area is very open, on the other hand there are these various nooks and crannies with puzzle elements hidden in them, but not too hidden that finding them is a challenge.
This visual excellence comes at a hefty price though: the frame rate is horrible, even on my pretty decent computer. (A quick "gpu_level 0" fixes that, fortunately, but not everyone knows you can do that.) I would easily have given the visuals a 5/5, if not for this performance problem and the fact that there are also a lot of missing models, and one missing texture. (LP's death fizzler?)

I did like the fumbling about by Wheatly, and the "improvised" exit.

Gameplay / Difficulty: 3;5
I have a love/hate relationship with this puzzle. It's of the "cards face up" type, where everything you need is either in plain sight or easily discoverable, and it's up to the player to combine it all into a solution. However, I found the positioning of the faith plate to be extremely annoying. It is in the middle of the room, surrounded by a few missing tiles so it doesn't stand out, and located in a spot such that I keep stepping on it accidentally EVERY FREAKIN' TIME I cross the room. Perhaps it's just me, but I think it would be better if it would have been placed a bit closer to the edge of the platform. Also, that turret is a bit pointless.

Overall, I think this is a very strong contender, if you can get around the performance problem.

Personal score: 4

Sendificate series: Sendificate | A Beam Too Far | Airtime | 302
Other Portal 2 maps: Medusa Glare
Portal 1 maps: Try Anything Twice | Manic Mechanic

Errors and laggy as noted. Also agree that the faith plate is annoying. Still a very nice map.
