[SP] Reversal

Page 1 of 3Next

A map centered around a conveyorbelt, which has been critically aclaimed as "nicely detailed" and "an interesting idea" by testers.

Here's two full size screenshots:

Short, but doesn't over stay it's welcome. Puzzles cut right to point, showing the new testing element to retro Aperture in the form of conveyors, seen previously only in behind the scenes Aperture areas fitted to work in the retro map style. Easy to figure out, but difficult enough to appreciate. Reminds me much of Lobster's work and shows much promise for this new mapper. 5/5

Understated gem which behind the short, quiet appearances hides novel and brilliant gameplay. You will remember this one as the map where it was done for the first time. An "indie" must have.

hahaha wtf man

Cool! I liked that this arguably new puzzle element totally fit the Portal world. Well done :)

I'm not sure I'd consider "interesting" to be acclaim, exactly, but I really liked it anyway ;P

I would get bored if I just commented "cool gg".

I started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.

Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSPjSi9bxqw

Well fuck

Moving that button closer to the water dispenser at the last minute without getting my testers to re-run it was probably the worst thing I could have done

I'd encourage you to replay it using the other solution, it's far more enjoyable (don't have to record it, naturally), I guess I have a few improvements to make once file editing gets re-enabled.

Too bad, i did the exact same thing, I was like O_o Gonna try it the good way.

Edit: Yeah, it was much more fun.

Wow this map put a big smile on my face. It was good to finally see a 1960's SP map. It was crisp, well done, complete puzzle with no bugs or problems at all, aesthetically pleasing and fun!

Only problem was it was too short. Would have liked to see a few like this linked up, or maybe some other ones thrown on. But defintiely worth it. Especially since now that we all have your map to open as an example, anyone can use conveyors as a testing element =)

Wow, I watched the video. was kind of stunned. This didnt occur to me to do it that way. I was like "Thats really cheap." I must say the design of the puzzle led ME to solve it as intended, bouncing up getting the cube and all. And that was way more fun =) Like you said all you gotta do is move the button
