[SP] Revelations: Segment Nine
Quote from Vandread83 on May 23, 2011, 11:32 pmAlright, was able to get it updated, I like the look of it now, more sinister with all the black.
I swear there is 1 cube less than there used to be... maybe I was just smoking crack when I was placing my blocks the first time though.

Quote from Hanzik on May 24, 2011, 10:19 amI know about this issue, Tim, but it's surprisingly intended (because... well... I don't think it's even possible to do it the other way around with logic gates). If you hold the last cube for the upper laser catcher, it doesn't matter, because you still have to use portal for it in the same way. I don't really want to go back to it.
Vadread, there were always 5 reflection cubes.

Quote from Mog on May 25, 2011, 5:59 amDamn, great map. I was dismayed, however, when I finally figured it out, that I could
light up all 3 catchers, and the panels would go away. Then if I took away one of the catchers, I could still exit the level. So essentially I could stand on the button myself and just release it when the small room's catcher was lit.
But apart from that, nice job.

Quote from Djinndrache on May 27, 2011, 8:58 amI started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.
Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fThNAeCtsMk

Quote from Adair on May 28, 2011, 6:28 amOn my first play of this map I beat it without obtaining the
solid cube from the fling room, but I did use all five lens cubes. I noticed the fling room and thought I would come back to it, but then I got the final door open and was finished before I realized it.
On my second play I finished it only using
4 of the 5 lens cubes and again I skipped getting the solid cube (I didn't know there was a solid cube in the fling room until I watched another player's video in this thread). I did it using the glitch that allows you to hit one laser catcher after the other quickly enough that the game thinks both are catching a laser. I wish I'd bothered to learn how to make a quick video of it.
Maybe I'll take some screenshots if someone wants to know what I did.
BTW, I thought glass windows allowed lasers to pass through them in Portal 2...?

Quote from matchu on May 30, 2011, 8:42 pmThat was exciting
Nice atmospherics; everything looked really well-polished. I'm a bit confused as to why I'm not allowed to send lasers through glass, though at least it's made obvious by the lasers' original positions. I'd recommend blacking that wall out, since, though I like the look of it being glass, it's better to be consistent with the Portal universe.
Looking forward to the remaining 199

Quote from Eastward on July 14, 2011, 5:21 amSince it's late and I was stacking the odd of solving this puzzle before bed, I decided right away I would start stacking cubes and see if I could come up with nine, which I did not of course. However, I bumped into my stack, and there hung up high was a cube. So the solution came very quickly, which I just now have read other posts is not the intented solution. Anywho, this puzzle was good. So keep thinking inside and outside of the box(es).

P.S. Since the laser cube can hang high one does not need the weighted cube.

Quote from randombob on July 14, 2011, 10:02 amI liked the map. Some design issues like doors sticking out of walls excessivly and stuff but other than that good.
My solution:
After redirecting all the lazers, i put the solid cube on top of button and the reflector on t op of solid. AFter portals placed so that lazer goes trhough reflector cube, laser ended up slightly low. I then picked up the reflector cube so that it hit the catcher and dropped it again. This however left the door area open and i walked to the end. Im not sure if the door was supposed to be left open after catchers stopped being activated or not.
3/5

Quote from Instantiation on July 17, 2011, 1:03 am(I created an addons folder in the same directory as the maps directory, but I realized that that's not what the readme actually meant for me to do. Can the folder be in either location?)
All in all, it was a fun map with a respectable difficulty for the lasers. I got the intended solution that Vandread83 had (well, close enough).
