[SP] Paradox
Quote from cosmo123 on June 5, 2011, 11:31 amA short map, trying out an idea thats been suggested a few times. It's got a time machine in it, which switches between the present and the future. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to extend it before the contest ends.

Quote from Lawton on June 5, 2011, 1:37 pmIt's far too easy to remove the only cube from the game by taking it to the future and leaving it there. I also can't really rate a level that I could write a walkthrough for in one sentence:
Use the time machine to get more cubes.
Edit: I didn't notice the reset button, never mind.

If it was solvable I couldnt figure it out :p
I really like the time machine though! Really awesome!Lawton wrote:
Use the time machine to get more cubes.
Oh I feel sorta dumb now. I guess I was traveling the wrong way :d

Quote from xdiesp on June 5, 2011, 5:51 pmCongratulations for the original idea, but I didn't find much logic in the puzzle. If I brought back my cube from 2015 to 1985, I would expect that going back to 2015 again at this point wouldn't make me find a third cube (I have it with me). That should have required at least 2014, but the game doesn't suggest so.
Maybe, check this other time traveling mod:

Quote from cosmo123 on June 5, 2011, 6:20 pmYeah, it is a bit odd. I couldnt think of another way for it to work though, without interacting with yourself somehow. The idea was the future version always follows directly from how you leave the past, unfortunately that = infinite boxes. I was working on another puzzle which was more complicated and got around this by only giving you access to old boxes, but the map was already a maze of logic gates and I couldn't get it to work.
