[SP] Entry01

Page 1 of 2Next

My first Portal 2 map, and part of my Entry series which is still in the works. I'm submitting this map for the contest.

A seemingly simple small puzzle map that requires a little thinking to solve.

Well cut and clean looks, despite the size it has an intriguing piece of puzzle!

the hills are alive... with the sound of music

Pretty dificult at first to figure out what was going on, but eventually figured it out feeling dumb about it. I don't think it is a bad map. Pretty deceptive too.

First guy tells the second guy, "My head hurts!" The second guy replied, "Stop thinking so much!" Then the first guy says, "I think that what caused my problem in the first place!" The second guy says, "Then stop banging you head against the wall!"

YES! The design is uncluttered but still detailed and functional, the puzzle is original, and the solution is ingenious.

My only possible complaint is the length, but really I don't mind. Five out of five.

Small and yet surprisingly challenging; just the way i like em'! Look great! I didn't find any glitches.

"We're done here."

Even though small, otherwise perfect!
I especially liked the fact that there is a perfect mix between white and black walls(most maps just do black with a few single white walls which pretty much tells you what to do with no room for improvisation) and the most important thing for me was, good light!
Yes, this is so rare in fan portal maps, that i gave the map a 5/5 just because of that. It wasn't too bright(like in default maps) or too dark(like most fan maps)
I just love it

I like the clean looks of the map.
The puzzle was fun, I love anything with Goo, haha
Although, I feel like I solved it "wrong" :d

Thanks for the feedback guys. I actually iterated through several versions to iron out all the glitches people in my community found. Playtesting has great value :)

I started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.

Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ime1oF4nOE

Looks like I am constantly trailing behind this other video-makin fella, but I do have "halarious" running commentary going for me... anyhow here is another video of this map.
