@kennkong: im happy that u like the puzzle. as i said in the description this map isnt easy to solve with a controller. this is my first map and i think ill have to rework some parts. im currently working on a new project but if i find the time ill change the things u mentioned to make it playable for everyone. i was a passionate kreedz player back in the good old cs 1.6 times. i remember me cursing because some maps were to hard or had bugs and i fell off and had to restart from the beginning because there were no checkpoints. but i liked the physical competition in egoshooters and i think its in the bag.@jacu: thanks again mate for your video. it really seems i have to rework some parts because every time i change some issues it opens new possibilities to solve.
anyways thanks guys ill upload a new and better version as soon as i can.

KennKong wrote:It's a shame, really, that such a wonderful puzzle is buried in insane gymnastics. This map won't be playable by very many people, I'm afraid. Of course, they can noclip as much as I did, but I think many will just rage quit.I did figure out how to solve it, but in some places I used noclip to bypass some difficult moves. (Especially in the end, where
it was more like trial-and-error, because the respawned cubes would often miss the jump pad and not get launched.
) It is more Nintendo hard than Portal hard, and that's just not my cup of tea.
However, from a design and build quality perspective it is a very good start. You just need to pay a little more attention to aligning textures and props correctly. I also think you should keep the white lines; it's obvious that these can't hold portals and they give the map a unique visual style.

Your map is the very first custom map I tried to play, with a gamepad nonetheless. So yeah, I had it coming. But your design is amazing and watching your solution video really, really made me want to play it. I love the complicated maps with really clever puzzle design which stretch my brain to the snapping point, and this map has it in spades, but the frustration of dying hundreds of times due to not making a jump is just too much for me. If you could bring yourself to update a version for those of us who are not acrobatic shooting ninjas, I'm sure you would have many eager takers.

Quote from macko68 on March 26, 2012, 1:36 pmCongratulations Markiu your first release is like Jonatan`s Quadro just brilliant and I expect great maps from you in the future. I finally had the time to work on this and oh boy that was really hard and took me a lot of time (6 hours). Initially I`ve played older version (1.6) and then focused on newest one. Below my impressions:
- new version is much harder and cancels several alternative solutions (two fizzlers above made a huge difference)
- retriving the first cube is just frustrating. I`ve tried hundred of times and accidentally manage to do it as I knew there was no other option. Afterwards I`ve read about left-right trick which is in my view a fult in mechanics then anything else. That was definitely the weakest point of the whole map.
- the rest as for puzzles is AWESOME. I retrieved the second cube in completely different way not seeing through fizzler
put the cube inside the laser grid turned back, shot the portal inside from the top, that way I didn`t have to do the tricky manouvers
. I`ve done the next setup in ver. 1.5 also in a different way but it was to no avail in 1.8 so that version minimizes the possible solutions
- as for the final fizzler in 1.5 I was able to
grab the cube through the fizzler and release it moving backwards
as this is not possibility in 1.8. In last version however
I stack two cubes with slight slanting then go upstairs and press the button before one cube collapses
. After I saw the solution I found it more of a luck then solid solution. I`ve even came across the intended one but I didn`t think out how to enable two catapults
- your solution video is great last part and cube grab with jump backwards is nothing short of amazing
All in all an easy 5/5. This is really map to remember though its merit is diminished by hard execution. Being so impressed by this release I`ll try your next maps. Please continue mapping !

I'm happy that you liked my puzzle.
This was my first map and I've learned a lot in the last months. Sadly I wasn't able to turn this puzzle into a clean and easily solvable map. As you can see it needed eight updates and it's still open for unintended solutions. Maybe if i got time I'll make a complete rework so it will be more stable.
The feedback by this awesome community helped me improving my skills and I'm sure my future maps will be better arranged and more fun to solve. They might lack in difficulty but it's not my intention to make super hardcore difficult maps that can only be solved by 1% of the community.
I want to create clean and logical puzzles that offer a challenge for everyone and I think I'm on the right track. I hope you'll check out my future releases and give me more feedback.
Cheers
