I wonder what happens when Cave Johnson gets his pain pills...

Send this report to valve/steamsupport. Perhaps they can help.

Seriously?
I did. THEY WERE NO HELP.
Quick note: I have tried reinstalling, verifying game cache, deleting files etc etc. This happens in ALL games, and has done since I first got Steam.

Seems like a corrupt index file... have you tried re-downloading a fresh copy of steam and installing that ?

Are you moving your steam folder after install ?

"GetClientUser returned NULL" > Have you set up a steam account correctly ? Do you have more then one attempting to be accessed at once from one machine ?

Is steam permitted access through any/all firewalls on your PC ?

None of that may be of any help, but its a start on things to check...

When did you send that to Valve/Steam support ? Have they replied yet, saying they can be of no help ? I'll expect they are very busy and may take a small amount of time to get back to you...

Please explain to me how moving the Steam folder can help

Also, by "correctly" set up a Steam Account what do you mean? I think I did. I set it up like it told me to. Is there a "proper" way?

I don't mean to interrupt but you can at least show some respect for the people who are trying to solve your problem.

(In bold)
I'm sorry if that sounded offensive, but it was a question, not a rebuttal.

Also, I have been having this problem ever since I got Steam (2 years ago). It's annoying me. A LOT.

Its an indexing problem ?... the game is trying to update and/or move a game cache folder, it looks to be having difficulty finding it in the first place, hence the error loop...

My attempted breakdown of the debug log, using logical assumptions from the descriptions

Did you pirate the game?

No.
I hate pirates. Valve earned all of the money they got from the game and no one should be mean and deprive them of needed income.

(P.S I like your new picture :P)

Also this problem doesn't happen all the time. Very rarely it DOES work.

EDIT:
IT'S FIXED! I verified game cache and IT'S FIXED!
Thanks for all your help, anyway.
