Reflector Sphere?

HMW wrote:Wait, is it possible to still reach the original template entities?Well, this is what the wiki says for the point_template entity: "If there are interdependencies (entity I/O, hierarchy, or other name references) between the entities in the template, the entities in the template will have their names changed and the interdependencies will be reconnected to the changes names. The name change format is as follows: '<original name>&0000', where the 0000 will be replaced with the current global template instance, so wildcard searches for '<original name>*' will still find them. "
And then "If you don't want the name fixup to happen, because you're only spawning the template once, or you want inputs to trigger all instances of the template, check the 'Preserve entity names' spawnflag. "
So this suggests they are always available to be reached
which is awesome! And that they can also be reached for example using FindbyName or FindbyTarget, right?
Thanks Felix!

Quote from Naulziator on March 28, 2013, 10:11 amI apologize if I'm not responding, but it's been a super busy week prepping a new button (made of glass), boiling maple sap (100 gallons boiled thus far) & fixing computer software. I'll be out most of the day, but my model is waiting for a script.
I'll drop another post when I get back.

Fully recovered and kicking ham!
Now if only the snow and mud goes away (pigs truly hate wet mud!).

Quote from Naulziator on March 29, 2013, 10:50 amWe're tapping at my brother's place at Vader Lake (Wollaston Township, Southern Ontario). We've managed around 12 litres (3.17 gallons) of pure syrup as of last night. The boiling is tedious since we don't have any more than a small wood stove and a high pressure propane burner to do the boiling with. And we've only 3 acres worth of trees (50 thus far). They're all running like nuts this year. We can't catch up the flow.
Anyways, I'm ready to send the little puppy your way when you're ready.

Quote from FelixGriffin on April 15, 2013, 5:32 pmSorry, Naulz, but so far I haven't gotten it working. As far as I can tell SetModel, as a client-side thing, doesn't change shadows or collision models. So you have a sphere that acts like a cube.
I'm working on a new method, although it'll be slow. Don't try to flail around with the sphere as you're holding it in a laser or it'll glitch.
Jst two other things...
Could you change te SMD just slightly? I've gotten all the skins set correctly, but they're oriented wrong--the "lens" needs to be on the top of the model.
And do you mind if, after it's working, I add this to the BEE2?

Quote from Naulziator on April 26, 2013, 10:19 amI can try that, but it's going to take some extra time. My computer crashed two weeks ago and I have to reinstall everything (all my files are recovered). I bought a PS3 version of Portal 2, which means I need to download the darn game on my PC again. Not good, since my internet has a bloody download limit until we get Fibre optics here in the fall (Welcome to Canada).
Also, I'm not sure what BEE2 is, but I'll be happy to see the sphere in everyone's levels.
UPDATE: SMD's are updated, however the .qc file will not compile due to Portal 2 not being installed. Would you happen to have the GUIStudioMDL on your computer?
