The rating was 4/5, but that's not what's bothering me. Is this some sort of sick joke?So tempted to rating spam right now....

I think in terms of boolean variables. Generally, it makes things easier.
Quote from Vordwann on September 22, 2011, 6:37 amWell MasterLagger, I suppose you could consider everything that iWork says to be sarcasm, and then that would be a justification for everything he says, but most times he's just acting like a 5th grader. I actually don't know how good of a mapper is as i've only played a collab. map that he helped work on.

EDIT: I thought you meant TeamCitruz's map not shawy's.
Unfortunatly you can rate as any user, as I spammed voted once as sleeper.
Aww, then whoever did it could cover their tracks.

Quote from WinstonSmith on September 27, 2011, 10:26 pmAlright, so it took a little longer to write this up.
In any case, yes, the current DLDB software has a few flaws. It is, as has been noted, possible with some difficulty to forge ratings for maps. To be completely honest, I'd just ignore the ratings in favor of forum comments, mainly for two reasons. First, since it's bugged we can't guarantee it's accurate, and second, forum comments give much more accurate feedback.
We are working on a new DLDB system. However, there are a few challenges. First, none of us really have any free time, and those that do (mostly just me I think) don't have nearly enough experience with PHP to write up a new one, much less one that hooks into the existing threads, data tables, and files on our hosting mirror.
But all of this has been stated before. Thanks for sticking with us, we're trying to keep things up and running as best we can. A new spotlight should be coming within the week, and look for more ahead.
