[PTI] PeTIte [three]
Quote from grayarea on March 4, 2014, 5:58 amAfter a long break I've come back with a third small PTI map. It's moderately difficult to reach the exit, but if you want an extra challenge I've added some Easter eggs. There's one cube which you need to solve the main puzzle, but try to find a second object and then exit. Or for extra marks, bring the same hidden object to the exit with you. Please note that the additional challenges are tricky to execute. They are for hardcore players. There is also an extreme challenge to bring all objects to the exit, but this one really is unreasonably difficult.

Quote from HeadShot on March 4, 2014, 5:35 pmHappy to see you back mapping! Took my first look this afternoon. Set up some activations with angled cubes in the funnel, but with the double fizzler there doesn't seem to be enough time (at least not the way I set it up...) Hopefully I can put some solid work in on it this week!

Quote from grayarea on March 5, 2014, 8:42 amI've made some significant expansions to this map now. The original puzzle to reach the exit has not been changed at all, but I've added some additional challenges which are completely unsolved now. For some reason I had to create a new Workshop entry, so you will need to subscribe to the new map here:

Quote from Xtreger on March 7, 2014, 12:11 pmI'm hopelessly stuck, in fact I can't even get started on the easter egg part.
After completing the first room when I'm funneling downwards using the panel above the twin fizzlers, I've managed to land in the small space near the death field.
I'll try some more a bit later

Quote from grayarea on March 7, 2014, 12:46 pmYeah the easter eggs are definitely tough, and not just logically. Execution is difficult, and these sections of the map are deliberately dark, without indicator lights and generally unfriendly. In some cases you just need to experiment, without having all the mechanisms spelled out in advance. They're off the main line of the map, and I don't really mind if no one solves them.

Quote from Xtreger on March 9, 2014, 9:21 pmGot the frankencube to the exit. Now only the other items remain,
although I think that if anything other than the frankencube can be brought to the exit alone, then it would easily be possible to bring the other 2 things with it
Quote from grayarea on March 10, 2014, 4:56 amYeah the crux of challenge #3 (bring all objects to the exit) is unreasonably difficult. The final steps were, as you predicted, very easy but I've now updated the map to provide one more puzzle for this final stage of the final challenge.

Quote from Calmly Frenetic on March 14, 2014, 4:12 amI seem to have found "unreasonably difficult" to be much easier than "moderately difficult". I quickly found a way to achieve all of the challenges, but I do not believe I have found the intended solution for the map.
For the extreme challenge there were a few alternate ways to get through, but one of those allowed skipping much of the lower area, so please consider an update to keep the difficulty high:Suggestion
In the hidden room containing the third object, make the portalable surface only visible from outside the room if standing near its doorway - similar to the way the map was a couple of updates ago.
Quote from grayarea on March 14, 2014, 4:45 amThanks for the suggestion, I've changed it as you suggested.
Yes it sounds like you may have found some unintended solutions. Could you possibly PM me a description?
Thanks for playing!
