[PTI] Almost...

I am "almost" getting to the top light bridge to the Exit. Damn that name !!
I am a few feet short. Tried everything - to no avail.
But I REFUSE TO WATCH THE VIDEO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will not stop - EVER - until I solve this puzzle. After all, I got Imp and Boost - so why not this one? Then again, I have been completely unable to get anywhere with Blue Entanglement.

At first I thought for sure I could use the added depth of the lower area to extend my bounce - but it doesn't do diddley. And just as it is useless for the light bridge button (which I reached using standard gel and bounce methods) - the angled surface isn't good for ANYTHING.

I really though I could extend the light bridge out across - about 15 feet below to top light bridge, and then dump some gel on the lower light bridge . . . then jump up to it and bounce up from there. But unfortunately - NO. It seems impossible, even though I did get closer that way. I am getting sick of bouncing and had to take a break. I am not using spoiler blackout here since nothing I have tried - works.

I'll say that as a tip, if I learned anything from these maps is that everything is in there for a reason.

I don't know how you did it with getting to the button, but I used the panel for that. Anyway, so yeah, the gap is there for a reason, so don't discard it.

sending the blob down to the lower level - shooting a portal down there and having it shoot up at a high enough velocity to cout the underside of the top light bridge. The it was a matter of shooting gel out the top side and then immediately shooting a lower light bridge. Then I had gel on both light bridges and did a bing-bang-boing between them to build up speed . . . finally bouncing up and onto the top light bridge
. Sheesh this took some time, and many tries, though. I'm not a Markiu or Roger or any of the others that "get these" almost automatically.

Mr Waterhandle - thanks for the feedback. I totally understand what you're saying, but in terms of exploit-proofing the map it would probably be difficult to reduce the size of the pit. It's imperative that the player not be allowed to put gel anywhere near it, as they could simply jump off it for the extra height. I could put a high wall around it, but then I'd have to move the wall panel too, which would mean in turn changing the rest of the chamber around so the solution is still workable. Leaving the pit as it is is the lesser of the two evils, I think....

PCdoc - first of all, thanks for playing! I'm never sure whether to feel guilty or honoured that people play this map until it makes them feel physically sick... Your solution was one of Markiu's and, while not originally intended, is one I purposefully left in there because it was really cool and inspired a certain subsequent map of mine. Not sure if you've seen the intended solution - the map's been edited a tiny bit since this vid to make it easier to do, but it's fundamentally the same:

Perhaps you can have a non portable 'drainage' pit for the gel? What I mean is to have the pit be the size of the gap, and keep the grating around, but have non portable surfaces below where the player can't get, but let the gel through. Or maybe just a glass floor there instead of grating, similiar to how you did it in Boost.

Another, very easy solution, though you might find it too obvious, is to simply have all the tiles in the pit but the ones under the gap be non portable.
