If there was a Portal movie, it would suck, like all movies based on something good. Only a few movies pulled it off to be decent, but Portal wouldn't be one of those movies.

Crazy is as crazy does.

Especially since the main character is mute. But they might be able to pull it off if they made it about the backstory of Aperture or something.

I imagine that'd be the least offensive thing they could do. But when so much of the backstory of Portal was written to be light-hearted and humorous, I really don't see how they could conjure any drama out of it (who would be the main character?), let alone attract a larger audience who may not have played the game, and then somehow tie up at the end without making it just a big set up for the events in Portal. You really can't make a film about a puzzle game.

More likely (but still horrible) is the prospect of a movie about the Half-Life/Black Mesa story/history, perhaps with subtle hints to Aperture throughout. But since there's officially no ending to the Half-Life story so far, that'd also be impossible.

tl;dr: No.
