GLaDOS is so advanced that Aperture Science couldn't finish it - none of the human effort could finish it - so AS made a secret collaboration with Combine, and for GLaDOS AS gave Combine their energy balls.
Wait a second. If Aperture Science worked with the combine, GLaDOS should know everything, right?

Also, I only played halfway through HL, haven't done blue shift or opposing force, and I'm about halfway through HL2.

The funny thing is, I've never seen an intubation associate.

EDIT: It's not 5 games, it's 6. It has been stated that Episode Three will be the final episode of the Half-Life 2 universe story arc, but not the end of the Half-Life franchise. So supposedly there will be at least one more game, Half-Life 3.

Half-Life 1, Gordon doesnt Eat
Space between Half-Life1 and Hl2, Gordon is put into stasis and cannot eat
Half-Life 2, gordon doesnt eat
Space between hl2 and ep1, gordon is stuck between the rocks and cannot eat
Ep1, Gordon doesn't eat.
Space between ep1 and ep2, there's no space here.
Ep2, gordon doesnt eat.
