This has been around on a few different mapping sites, I figured we might as well have one here as well. I'll start (meaning I'll steal a few good ones from other people without giving them any credit whatsoever).

Wake Up Call: Have Hammer crash.

Weeee!: Spend half an hour swooping through doors in the 3D View.

I See Rainbows!: Create a leak into the Void larger than 128 units^2, in a spot where players can clearly see it.

I Can't See!: Create a map with blown-out, overly bright HDR.

Attention to Detail: Create 10,000 accumulative func_details.

Nothing between the ears: Use the carve tool.
Mmm... donuts!: Create a torus.
In a hurry: Only update entities when compiling.
In no hurry: vvis takes over an hour.
I get the point: Load a poinfile to find a leak.

You're doing it wrong: Use the void as a deathtrap.

On an unrelated note, the :notworthy: emote was bowing to the exact tempo of my music. I watched it for the entire length of the song and it never went out of sync. Scary. The song was "Murder Taxi" by Hamster Alliance.

There's a hole in the...sky: Carve a hole in a skybox.
But it's nice and wavy!: Use the carve tool to make terrain*
Instancing Schminstancing: Use prefabs in Left 4 Dead Hammer or later.
Your argument is invalid: Have over 5 invalid keyvalues on one entity.
404 Error: Model not found: Have more than 10 entities with ERROR models.

What, who said they had to be about good mapping habits?

*This is in reference to a video I saw a while back where a user was horribly misusing carve. It was agonizing. I couldn't find it again, though, or I would have made the description a link.
