How to make this Cube Throw ?

Practice....
And then practice some more.

Just follow what real-life Olympic athletes do.

They train for 10 hours a day, for years at a time.

In five years, if you practice like that, I guarantee you will be able to make any of those throws.

Cube throws are an interesting thing. In my most recent map, I had a section where the player has to throw a cube at a relatively high discouragement field. Most players achieved this by using a propulsion runway slide into a tilted portal and letting go. However, djinndrache, the player that has been working on his project of recording all his gameplay, delightfully captured something rather impressive.

I had no idea this was possible, but propulsion gel dramatically increases the speed of whatever object you're throwing even if it's not in the direction you are going. (in this case, straight up)

The toss is at 8:25. He actually achieves it twice. Quite impressive indeed!

Yes, after learning the amazing feat of some players, I have to design maps with that in mind.

If a cube can be "easily" thrown to bypass the intended solution, I have to make it harder or nearly impossible.

This is evident in my latest map, sp_interception. I designed it so that even if players can throw cubes like Olympic athletes, they still have to solve the puzzle like every ordinary human being.

You double-posted, but all the same:

Think of the hammer throw at the olympics: turn around very fast, press the "use" button when you want the hammer to leave your hands. This game has a physics engine, so it will work somewhat realistically. To make the throw even further, jump as you press the button.

Took like 5 minutes to learn this.

I can understand the physics behind it as well.
