[Coop] A box of dimensions - Appetizer

Page 1 of 3Next

This is a one of tha maps from my soon to be released "A box of dimensions" coop campaign. It was supposed to be the first part but because of some technical difficulties i isolated it into this.

Update : forth and last version, all glitches fixed. (version 3 was completely broken)
Its a 2 test chamber map with the second chamber being the highlight. it uses world portals and is particularly difficult.

Is the second part of this level even possible? Been stuck for like an hour, could OP PM me solution?

Cheers,

Cheers,

Me and my coop partner played through all the map blind in 30:18.02 minutes. Gonna render the video within the next days and upload it on next Wednesday.

Hint:

Spoiler
The laser may create small "pipes" if you hit the right targets. Those pipes may open a way for the second player (world portals).
It took us some time to realize this, too

Some really devious stuff in there - took us about an hour to get through the whole thing. Some excellent level design as well - lots of attention to detail and the sections between puzzles are nice. The world portal idea is very well done. Also liked your approach to save points - works great.

I would really love to see a video walkthrough for this map. Me and my coop partner totally glitched the 2nd part of the map. Well, not exactly 'gltiched' per se, but we missied out half the elements of the puzzle.

So, those pipe things

open a world portal?
Huh, we never even used it. We actually

WALKED on the pipes
and managed to get to a button which gave us a 2nd cube from the vent. With just the 2 cubes we managed to get the laser into the final goal

(by using our 4 portals and both holding the cubes)
for the exit and since it stays open, we were through.

We literally didn't use half of the puzzle elements in the last room (in fact, less than half), I think this map needs more playtesting.

The map looks amazing, I will say that, very professional and well made.

Looking forward to the mappack.

How the hell did the player in the small rooms even reach the exit if you never used the world portals?
My guess is you were just trying too hard to glitch the level because its not that broken.
I will fix as much as i can anyways. You should play this again because you didnt do anything you were supposed to.

Very cool and professional designed map. Nicely done.

This map 'looks' awesome. This visuals were astounding, but in saying that you went a bit overboard with the complexity of the 2nd puzzle. Seems like you just tried to draw out the playtime of a simple puzzle by making it more tedious. There was no aha moment when we solved this. We knew what do, it was just arduous to do it. The flinging with the flippy panel was very hard because the fizzler was to high etc etc.

But overall I liked it, interesting use of world portal. Noticed a few bugs but they didnt really effect the gameplay at all. Good map 4/5!

I can assure you we were not 'trying' to glitch the level, but we spent a long time on the last part and couldn't think of what to do.

I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:
