[WIP] [SP] Fizzlerstar

Page 1 of 3Next

After my first map, Atloss, I decided something a bit more simple would be a good idea. This map features three puzzles using my invention the fizzlerstar. I used this guide by lpfreaky90 for my level design. Thanks!

Criticism and feedback welcome - encouraged, even.

This is Falconer D. We're done here.

A cool idea I only had a problem with the last room the cube would not fit properly into the hole =( but after about 15 minuets of fiddling with the cube I got it in there and had it stay there!! A nice concept but if you do more of the square ones make sure:
1. That the cube can pass easily by either making it animated dropping and raising the arms in the corners or make the arms themselves smaller by 2 points each.
2. make sure the cube if meant to stay put has enough ledge to do so.
3. If the cube is not meant to be set then use the standard glass thickness.

As for the map itself nice clean design easy to see what I had to do and where it happened.

The idea was fine - the execution was a little tough. Map looked great though - thanks for making!

Nice little chamber you have there. It looked good and you had your own little concept.

I didn't understand why you needed those fizzler things for room 1 and 3 though. I never used them and just portalled through them and placed the ball/cube through the portals.

Room 3: What a doozy. I couldn't do it the intended way because I saw no way of doing it. I tried putting the cube in the hole, stacking the cube on the balls (which what you know kept rolling away), jumping and quickly running at the panel exit... etc etc.
In the end I solved it like this:
7kg4US9qzyM

If that was the intended solution I will smack you! Always get someone to play-test your map.

On that note: I give you a 3/5.

I didn't manage to solve it..
thanks in advance

patience is a virtue...

That was the intended solution, chickenmobile (I did get someone to play-test it and they solved it and called me a

Spoiler
dick
but did not suggest it was bad to have it set up like that). Now that I've had some sleep I think that deliberately unused test elements may not be the best idea. At least, not like that.

I am going to use tonight to think of better ways to show off the fizzlerstar.

This is a great map, but needs some work on the glass, it needs to be a little thicker where the box goes, other than that, its a great map

What the?!?!...

EDIT:
If the playtester said that they thought you were a dick, I would change the puzzle... Just sayin'
