Water on the floor
Quote from KFredje on February 12, 2013, 11:53 amHello,
I want to try something new in a Hammer map. I like the idea of having some pools of water on my map but they have to be transparent so you see the floor in the water also. It should be like looking in a swimming pool and you the the bottom and the swimmers in the water.
Is this possible?
Tnx

Quote from josepezdj on February 13, 2013, 2:58 amHa, I made a custom water for my mod where I plan to use some underwater puzzles
Here you can see a heavy WIP of one chamber (can you see that button underneath the water?
)
It's not difficult to create. For the water to be transparent you only really need to add 2 parameters to the .vmt:
$pseudotranslucent 1 //a value of "1" makes the water to turn translucent; "0" is the default, non transparent (fogged)
$waterblendfactor 0.50 //this determines 'how' transparent you want the water to be (from "0" to "1" where values closer to "1" makes water less translucent, more dense)
You can add those parameters to wwhatever stock water material. In the case you need help with that, just say, k?

thanks Chris! Hopefully, now that Valentine's adventure has finished, I'll have plenty of time to focus in my mod and finish the first installment in some months
[spoiler]Btw, those circles in the middle of the picture are rotating and making metallic sounds
