Trouble with Lighting Static Props
Quote from BEARD! on February 15, 2012, 7:48 amI'm struggling to get consistent lighting for certain props, and would appreciate some help or advice! I think the easiest way to describe what's going on is with some pictures:
EDIT: The solution was to use -staticproplighting when compiling the map. This can be achieved by doing a 'full' compile via Hammer's Expert Run Map dialog. Thanks to Another Bad Pun for the information.
Geodome props with different lightingt
Same story, but for the paint tubes
The same for walkway props. They also seem to be casting excessive shadows. You can also see the disproportionately bright geodome prop! What's going on here? Am I lighting things incorrectly?

Quote from Another Bad Pun on February 15, 2012, 8:08 amCompiling with -staticproplighting should fix your problem.
-Staticproplighting is enabled automatically on full compile. (Remember to choose the option with both LDR and HDR.) You can compile with full compile by clicking the "expert" option in the normal compile window, and then selecting the option you want.
If you are not sure which options have -staticproplighting fully enabled, look at their parameters.
