Three major Valve announcements coming up

Hey!

In case you've missed it... Valve is going to announce stuff soon!
What stuff? Probably related to steam box! And it's three... could it finally be?

Anyhow; keep an eye on this page:
http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/
(at the moment it just says "The Steam Universe is Expanding in 2014")

And hopefully there will be something awesome coming from there!
Feel free to speculate!

The way they mention Big Picture certainly points to Steam Box, but HL3? Probably not. I'm guessing they're going to talk about L4D3 [Grrrrr] instead.
EDIT: Just noticed that there's a countdown timer on one of the "bubbles." Looks like there's going to be something revealed TOMORROW!

So it appears Steam are to release an operating system!!! http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamOS/ .Run on any 'living room machine'? Sounds a little like the Steam box got shelved and they are releasing this OS, putting the responsibility for the hardware on the user. Hmmmm? Seems to me like an extended version of the current steam client to go on any ..... computer......... which may be put in your living room....... a bit like Big Picture..... but with extras.
Why not just release it as a complete overhaul of Steam and lose the lame marketing ploy which tries to make it look like something groundbreaking? Either that or actually provide a physical 'living room machine' for people to buy maybe call it .... SteamBox?

I'm not sure I'll be using this because I'm okay with my computer setup, but this sounds good.

Oh, and look at the Q and A on the second announcement.

So much Valvey humor.

Haha ok, fair enough, I should have waited for the other announcements before making opinionated posts. I notice the symbols on the announcements show O, [O ] and then O+O . A purposeful avoidance of using 3 circles? A not so subtle hint maybe?

It reminded me of set theory notation, personally. The first three whole numbers in set theory are 0 = ? (the set containing nothing), 1 = {?} (the set containing 0), and 2 = {?,{?}}.

Falsi sumus crusto!

Interesting...you may be on to something.

Time to dig out that old controller lying around. :D
