Steam is downloading Over 9000 Maps - Problem

Hey a little question,

I Reinstalled (For another Reason) Win7 yesterday and today i reinstalled portal 2, But before i did it, i deleted all Subscribed Workshop Maps, so Steam "shouldnt" download any Maps.

But now i wonder why my internet sucks and i look at the Workshop Folder:

So why is Steam downloading also maps who i played months ago and already deleted them?^^

O_o Dude, what a blast! Are they truly around 9000? >.<

All I can say is this:

1. Workshop local stuff (portal2/maps/workshop) stays even though you unsubscribe a map, meaning that all the folders and maps you unsubscribed are not deleted from your drive, but you need to do it manually.

2. Workshop local stuff is not updated! meaning that if any mapper update a map, you'll have a new folder for every damn little update made.

Not sure if that local content is stored in the Steam cloud too (I doubt it), but maybe it is, and now you are retrieving all the content you had if you never did a local drive cleaning up... not sure.
