[SP] Tic-tac-toe + Gel fling to the button
Quote from wKLV on June 5, 2011, 12:25 pmThe map consists of two parts. The first one is a laser "tic-tac-toe board". When you make a line one puzzle element in the testchamber activates. The second part there are repuslsion and propulsion gel. Using these you must fly to a button in the end of the chamber

Quote from Novx on June 5, 2011, 1:48 pmVery nice map, although i solved it in a different way then i was supposed to in the first room.
I noticed it after once i was already in the blocked off red area.
The part where you use the blue beam to put the cube on the room kinda (the press-plate thing). i didnt do that. Instead I wallclimbed w/ the tractor beam and just floated in.
Suggestion to fix this: Add more no-portal surfaces to the top of the walls where you don't need to put portals. Made the map alot easier.
Quote from SeriousMoh on June 5, 2011, 5:23 pmthe first room was awesome. that tic tac toe is a great idea. apart from the two shortcuts i stubled upon, it's really a lovely map.
1:
in the first room, you dont need to take the elevator, put a portal next to the emancipation grid and jump around the corner.
2.
in the second room, put the cube on the button next to the prop gel panel, then run backwards towards the panel, jump and pick up the cube. then you can jump to the button.
Quote from xdiesp on June 5, 2011, 7:13 pmGeneral lack of order makes it appear more cluttered than it is, falsely indicating hard solutions to what are actually contained and approachable problems presented step by step. At least for room 2, as the first can be broken easily:

Quote from quatrus on June 5, 2011, 7:59 pmVery nice map, thanks for creating. It looked good and everything worked fine.
I saw some 'ninja' solutions to your puzzles, but IMHO the actual solution is less complex. Isn't it fun to figure out how to turn off the red grid rather than angle flinging over it? If that was an intended solution in a map, there would be a lot of rude comments I'm sure. Well done. I look forward to your next map.

Quote from Adair on June 7, 2011, 3:38 amPretty good puzzle here.
I found the ninja solution in xdiesp's picture the first time, but I went back and figured out the intended way to do the first room. One thing I noticed, and I think it's a flaw, is when you light up one of the diagonals in tic-tac-toe it activates the funnel, but only 2 out of 3 blue Xs turn into orange check-marks. The line of blue dots leading up to those signs doesn't change to orange either...yet it seems like I did see all three of them turn to orange checks at one point when I was messing around(using portals and cubes to light up all 9 laser relays), maybe the orange check-mark is associated with the wrong relay.
Room 2
In the second room I simply placed the cube in front of the exit door, stood on it and jumped up to reach the mini-button. I usually try to solve puzzles the intended way even if an easier solution is obvious, but I couldn't think of what to do with the orange gel...probably just a failure to think with portals.
Pretty good puzzle here.
Room 2
Quote from KennKong on December 1, 2011, 2:25 pmI enjoyed playing the map, despite it's potential for exploits. Like others, I didn't find a use for the orange gel in the second room. While I felt both rooms looked OK, the marked difference between them was jarring. I would darken the first room (less portal surface) and brighten the second. Overall, I like it well enough for a 4/5, despite it's multiple minor flaws.
