Thinking with Companion Cubes

This map involves new toys to solve puzzles with like..

The Portable Bullet Proof Shield Device
The Portable Gel Expelling Device
The Portable Laser Emitting Device
The Portable Wall
The Portable Catapult Device
The Portable Ramp
The Portable Bridge Dispensing Device
The Portable Bomb Exploder Device
The Portable Monitor & Cam
The Portable Flying Device
The Portable Excursion Funnel Shooting Device
... and more to come : )

This was basically a test to bring new elements into Portal 2. Also included is a playground map with all of these inventions.

Let me know what you think : )

--- use a steady hand when carrying these devices they may get out of control

//Fixed

Spoiler
a bug with the Excursion Funnel turning off prematurely if you are not holding on forward as you go up it. It should now turn off even if you are not holding down on forward.

You've got a good map going here, and some great ideas. The problem is that I can't see a way past this area, mind shedding some light on the situation?

Here you go :) The rest is relatively easy. : )

I got to the part with building the steps (after the vertical lift funnel), can't see any way past this...

OK, I just fixed this for you. Just moved the trigger a little higher, Worked for me though.

Nice ideas, definitely keep experimenting like that. For some reason, I can't carry the laser cube (and some others) for more than a second or two, the glass box cube was fine, though. Did you make it like that or is it a bug?

Now, as much as I wanna give you credit for creating new objects, some of them made the game a little too easy imo. It was nice to see something different for a change, but I don't know if the gel cube could make it in a "serious" puzzle. The laser cube has potential, though. You could make a map with a "Aperture Science Laser Emitting Companion Cube" or something like that.

Thinking about it, if you remove the white gel from the gel cube, this could be a valid puzzle element after all...

My reaction to this map:

Basically, it's about testing the weirdest contraptions ever created for a Portal game in a series of ugly rooms. Some of the cubes are preposterous, overcomplicated, but science is about "why not". If you can fix the rooms into more potable design, we'd have a gem on our hands. Right now it's hard to empathize with prefabs in bleak boxes.

That cartoon reminds me from when I first played Minecraft

Advice to other players:
1) Start up the playground map.
2) Find the gel cube(the one with 5 mini buttons grafted onto it) and start shooting blue gel out.
3) Now pick up the gel cube and move forward with it so the gel cube itself gets coated in blue gel.
4) Let go of the gel cube and watch chaos unfold.

That should amuse you for at least 5 minutes.
Bonus tip: make sure the laser emitting cube gets coated in blue gel also.

As promised, there are new devices, I'm terrified and confused by novelty. The part that started to bore me was the room with the block cubes. I found a bug with these objects. If you climb the cube on to the block attached to it, then grab the cube and start to look upwards, you will go flying up in the air. I managed to (accidentally) achieve this effect going in reverse, but I'm not sure how exactly.

Also, some of the devices would do this to me at random, if you pick up the cube, you will auto release it after either a certain amount of time, or maybe it has to do with the direction I was looking, causing the cube to clip ground or something?

Anyways, really cool ideas, just some bugs with execution, and not really my thing in custom maps. I'm sure some people will have fun with it though. Kudos for trying new things.
