Multichamber test of moderate size, average workmanship (check subchamber 1 for alignment) with intermediate puzzles. Overall, fast and accessible to beginners.

Not sure how the cube should be taken out of subchamber 3, actually: I

Spoiler
just did it very fast
, but it required several tries as it could get me stuck.

the hills are alive... with the sound of music

Nice map, getting cube out of 3 was hit or miss, not something I like to see in a map - with reasonable skill one should be able to execute effectively without repeatedly getting stuck in a door etc.... Maybe could have come up with something else as part of the puzzle - the lasers grid was tough enough. Thanks for mapping.

I don't know what people's problem with door number 3 was, I found it easy enough to solve (I did it last)
I did NOT get the cubes in the order of the dots, I dont see how it is even possible to get cube 1 without getting [spoielr] at least 2 other cubes to stack and climb up there [/spoiler] Part of the reason I didnt do them in order was the first time I went by the glass looked closed to all but door 4, so ignored them.
I solved the 4 dot cube first

Spoiler
(I just rushed the turret and grabbed it before it could shoot me enough to kill)
then I did cube 2, which was the one I found most tedious. Getting it wasn't too hard, it was getting out that was a pain. I found I had to do the whole portal sequence once for the box and once for myself.
Next, I got cube 1 using the above mentioned method.
Finally I went to door number 3 and
Spoiler
got up to the two cubes with a fling, as intended (however I COULD have used the other 3 boxes to make stairs and get up) once up there left one cube behind.
you CAN get stuck if you jump down with the cube, I tried aiming the holding the box near the glass to get the laser to hit the receiver to open the doors back up, but I couldn't aim it that way because my back was too close to the wall.

Anyways, the last part was the most fun part. I really liked this puzzle compared to other laser "where the hell is the next catcher/relay" puzzles. They are all there you just need to light em all up. I actually solved that part quite quickly, faster than the other parts, partly because I was thinking of doing the same thing in one of my maps =/ oh well.

Heres how I got the last part:

were there any other patterns I could have used? I didn't try any other ways =/

anyways, 3.5/5
needs more detailing and maybe some tweaks to area 2

The misdirectioning dots make me rate this map lower than the real vote.
Also, in the subchamber 3 the intended solution i hope isn't

Spoiler
doing that very fast. I moved the cube without picking it up to aim the receiver, but it was a pain in the a**.

I usually demorec the blind ride of every map i try, if you want it send me a private message.
(I'll stop recording if i die.)

I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:

First of: thanks for playing and thanks for you comments.

Lets me answer some questions and state design decisions chamber by chamber:

Start

Spoiler
I wanted the player to have a good overview of what riddle he is facing. you immediately see that you have to activate all nine relays to continue. The four sub chambers represent the four boxes you need to solve the main puzzle.

Subchamber 1

Spoiler
This is actually pretty simple. you open a portal on the wall and jump into another portal eg. one on subchamber 2s floor. The thing is, you must not go to fast, 'cause if you do, you hit the plateau. So either jump in slowly, or just pile up boxes.

Subchamber 2

Spoiler
This chamber is pretty obvious. Upon entering you see the cube. You see all the faces you can place a portal on. Getting the cube is easy. To get out, either do the very same procedure again, or walk to the very back wall and place a portal in the main room.

Subchamber 3

Spoiler
The solution in the video is the one I intended. I admit, you can get stuck in this sub chamber, but only if you throw the cubes back up the plateau whilst not powering the laser catcher. If you jump down with a cube, you can get still redirect the laser into the catcher. Its a bit tricky, but not impossible.

Subchamber 4

Spoiler
This is a stub. Any solution is ok.

Main puzzle

Spoiler
The main puzzle was pretty tricky to scale. If it is to small you cannot aim or place the cubes properly. If it is to big ppl would take to long from one end to the other and would loose overview.

Anyone interested in an updated version?

ps. this map was developed with Git.

One of the weakest laser puzzles I've played. Ok for a beginner, much too easy for any player with experience. The map was quite plain, too. 3/5 from me.
