What's with the putting you back at the beginning randomly? If you want the player to die, you need to kill them. It's so frustrating trying to figure out what area will start you over and what won't. I understand it's sometimes a convenience thing, but it's especially frustrating in the second room. I didn't feel like I was playing portal because of all that.

Definitely needs checkpoints.

Hey there.

The idea on this map may be really nice, but as it is mapped now... it is crap.
The "respawn" thing is really annoying.

Also you can place portals from some locations, where you should not be able to place them.
(alternate and easier solving)

I was able to place the last portal because, you did not kill me and just teleported me back.

---
Please keep the idea and work on that map.
Fix the bugs and try to kill the player instead of teleporting him back.
- also make some more checkpoints!

Edit:
speedrun: 2nd part of the map

sorry guys, I'm new to portal mapping in general. I mainly make maps for css, DODs, and left 4 dead 2

This was my first portal map. I never even mapped for the original portal

I'll take your comments as constructive criticism and work on fixing any inconsistencies for a sequel

Great acrobatics puzzles, kept me occupied for 10 mins. Level design could do with spicing up but otherwise clean and un-problematic.

Main thing I suggest is, along with the acrobatics make some really annoying puzzles involving some other dynamics that you have to activate/spray/bounce mid flight.

I think you could build on these to make some really hard maps :D

I made this : Ring Finger

I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:

Barren series of gigantic rooms which will keep you busy with flings for a good 10 minutes. Lenghty, so bonus points for the improvised reload system which eases the pain of intense quickloading after wrong moves (honest, almost never ending in death).

But you'll have to set your mind to it, as the fun element isn't exactly dominant. Doesn't help either having no recognizable style.

the hills are alive... with the sound of music
