Sadly, the "more" and the tantalizing Doorway led to nowhere but blackness and an abrupt game ending with no elevator and no words.

I thought when I saw that door that there would be more rooms. This map is a good start but leaves the player feeling like he was dropped into limbo by that ending.

The platform will activate even if I haven't put the energy pellet into the energy pellet reciprocal, and the other thing that I can think of is that there is no continuous stream of platforms, but other than that, great.

Aren't energy pellets supposed to fizzle in acid? (I don't recall, just asking.)
The platform didn't seem to be descending into the fire, or if so, only slightly.
If a [spoiler]burning companion cube[/spoiler] counts as an easter egg, I found it but couldn't actually get it, which is what I wanted to do.

The rough result here just goes to show how much polishing it takes to make a map really shine. I can't knock you for trying, but only 3/5 from me.
