Length: 30-45 minutes----------
This is my tribute project to Portal and Portal 2 which bent my mind in so many ways. I wanted to try to do the same for others. It took about 2 months of work because I work slowly, and yes, it is extremely optimized which is why the size is small for the length. I hope you enjoy it.
The meaning of the map
This takes place after Chell has left Aperture. She dreams about the facility as most of her life had taken place in there. Her memories go from the old Portal 1 facility to the destroyed tests of Portal 2, always haunted by the words of GLaDOS and Wheatley. She has no family and her future is confusing. Eventually she sees the entire history of Aperture Science again from the beginning to the end, and the ending results in her being lost and confused. Her biggest test is finding her true self.
If you like it then please upvote the map on workshop as well: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =214699219

Quote from quatrus on January 11, 2014, 11:30 amCertainly unusual, too dark in some areas, turrets never a factor, trip via buttons and lights near the end was strange - overall the map seemed to lack a continuity to the puzzles and then it just ends... Nice to see you use Hammer though, thanks for mapping...

There actually is a meaning to it but I wanted the player to figure it out first. I'll probably post it later.

Quote from RogerL on January 12, 2014, 10:51 amVery different from a usual Portal map, but entertaining. I thought that not just the puzzles lacked continuity, but much of the map did: you keep getting transported to unexpected places for no discernable reason. I'm sure you had a reason, but I just didn't get it. Still, if you can put up with its eccentricities, it is a lot of fun to play.

I decided to add the meaning of the map to the description. See that.

Quote from RogerL on January 12, 2014, 6:20 pmI played your map again with your meaning in mind and I think what makes it somewhat difficult to ascertain your purpose is that you are asking one map to do too much. We don't really get an immersive sense of her being in the various stages of her memories of Aperature. And what further muddies your meaning are test elements that are inappropriate to some of the stages. For example, in your first room, it's not clear why there are a funnel and ball in a Portal 1 - themed room since these elements obviously didn't exist in the original Portal. Please don't take these as criticisms, but as one player's perspective on why I didn't get your meaning.
