[SP] Laser Danger

It might not be as pretty as other maps (this is my first map ever in Hammer, after all), but I think it's a nice brain teaser. I hope you have fun playing it!

Edit: Fixed a small exploit. Thanks to Ruien for finding it out!

I may have cheated (?) but the map only took about 45 seconds and I got it on the first try. I kinda floated straight to the end.

I portaled up next to the redirection cube, used the funnel to fly over to near the laser catcher, then funneled off of front wall to go to back wall. Then, moved funnel across front wall horizontally until I could jump down from back wall and walk to the exit. I never touched the cube at all.

Was this the intended solution, or did I exploit the map?

uh, you can solve it in 10 sec. Portal up to where the cube is, move the cube to stop the funnel, portal to the exit.

I'm afraid it's even worse... Image

Short, too bright, puzzle needs some serious fixing.
But it's not all bad: replace that stair-shaped wall with actual stairs, and it will look nice.

Exploited it XD
Thanks for the tip. I'll get on to fix it :3

Edit: Done. Thanks again :)

Maybe put a grate on the wall at the end of the funnel and remove the white panels over the water. I never used them even when attempting the "intended" solution.

I wouldn't say it's too bright. I hate dark maps. The goo does have some rendering problems from some angles that I've never seen before in maps. It changes to a lighter shade, but then becomes normal when you get closer.

The sky-box is visible in the glass above and below you in the elevator rooms.
It's a cute little puzzle, but it's very short even when completed as intended.

I started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.

Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AR-6n7gcQ_Y

Honest little puzzle without infamy nor defining features, but working (at least after the fix). Could have been much smaller with the same elements in, especially the moat room.
