[SP] Funnel Vision
Quote from Moolapie on June 6, 2011, 6:55 pmA fairly straight forward romp through a medium sized test room. This is my summer contest entry and coincidentally the first Hammer map I have ever completed and published. Enjoy and feel free to send me feedback.

Purists usually hate that, but I think the tech level to be solid anyway.
Gameplay is not exactly a progression of puzzles, but more about spotting the whole structure's "weakness" by scouting, and then attacking. Once started this sweep is simple and fast, bringing you the items to clear the level in a minute or so.

Quote from Djinndrache on June 11, 2011, 6:56 amI started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.
Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE9OYTVHcCs

Quote from Moolapie on June 11, 2011, 8:11 amThanks for taking the time to play the level guys. I would say the comments on the design and intended solution to the level are valid.
If I had more time, (and wasn't learning hammer while designing the map) I would have liked to have made the level less linear and indeed, longer.
The video play-through is very useful as it at least shows me the texture cues (such as the room numbers and targets) worked as intended.

Also totally intentional and nothing at all to do with a lack of play-testing.

Quote from Adair on June 22, 2011, 3:59 amWhile not as impressive as what Wilco did, I found another shortcut.
Once inside chamber 1 I got up into the high tunnel without the light bridge running through it. I set up my portals inside chamber 1 so I could quickly get onto the light bridge. I got the turret's attention and once it started back into sleep mode I quickly jumped onto the light bridge and rushed the turret. I barely grabbed it before it killed me.In case you didn't know: that's a little exploit you can do with turrets. If you time it so that they are starting sleep mode you have an extra second before they shoot you.
Quote from KennKong on December 25, 2011, 1:26 amA fairly simple puzzle, but spread out across three rooms, so it doesn't look quite as simple. The fairly plain looks and ample portal surfaces disguised things a bit, too. Neat and clean, just not inspirational. 3/5 from me, add to beginners playlist.
