Quote from Gemarakup on October 25, 2013, 4:46 amThis map is for whoever likes to play Cricket in the park. Or for whoever just likes to go to the park. Or for whoever wants to see what Aperture can make out of a park together with a 1990s toy.
First proper puzzle with a bumbleball.

Quote from RogerL on October 25, 2013, 12:30 pmThis was unplayable for me. The first time through there was no bumbleball. When you press the button for one, the dropper opens, but nothing comes out. The second playthrough, there was a bumbleball to start, but, after a quick load, it disappeared, and again, none would drop from the dropper. All of the custom models are pure white. The movies in the elevator room didn't run. Music, though, did play for me. If you enter the grated room, the grate doesn't show from the other side. Sky in intro room was also pure white. I think this needs a bit of work.

Quote from Shakky on October 29, 2013, 6:44 pmVery interesting map! The music and the visuals work fine for me so I managed to play the map as it was intended. Quick loading does brake all the custom textures though. What did you use to pack them in your .bsp file?
After the techinal problems the map itself is visually very interesting and different. I find it really beautiful but I would personally tone down some of the lights. Some of the reflections get really bright. The puzzle itself was fun but I don't feel it uses the bumble ball to any true effect. Also it's really easy to cheat by shooting a portal on a white floor panel next to the exit.
I made a video that shows some other unintended stuff you might wanna fix:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v-kHzhblEY
Also during testing I noticed that quickly tapping the floor button gets the bridge stuck sometimes.
Overall, I would say the map has some great original ideas but could use some polish and fine tuning.

Quote from Gemarakup on October 30, 2013, 12:14 pmI used pakrat to pack the custom content FYI. The lighting was meant to make it feel like you've been indoors for a long time before you come out, but I guess it's not the best thing I did. I also thought of shooting a portal next to the door, but I never thought of doing it while standing on a cube, unless the clip I put on top of the button didn't work.

Quote from HMW on October 31, 2013, 5:23 pmNice map! I like how it looks (also the water area) and it's fun to solve. The open sky creates a very distinct, outdoor atmosphere.
Maybe you could tweak the HDR settings a bit (with an env_tonemap_controller) to make the lighting less over-saturated. If you do that when the player enters the main area, it will look somewhat like their eyes are adjusting, since it gradually blends to the new settings.
As I mentioned on the workshop, there was one instance where I didn't get a new bumbleball from the dropper. The ball had rolled off somewhere and I could hear its bleeps and squeaks, but couldn't find it. Pressing the button again caused the dropper to open with nothing coming out. It may have been a one-time glitch though. I just played again and it didn't happen.

I quicksaved after I had cube in position under the laser (that is really finicky to do, FYI) and was about the place the bumbleball. I messed up, quickloaded, and the bumbleball was gone. Pressing the button to give me a new one caused the dropper to open and stay open without a bumbleball ever coming out.
