remember to put the vmt and vtf files in the same place. for example, if you wanted to port the cranes from hl2:

move models/cranes from the misc vpk to portal2/models/cranes

then in the misc move materials/models/crane_docks to the same folder in portal 2's folder.

then finally, in the textures.vpk, do the same as the above. if you have any more problems, this website might help:

EDIT: (yet again Now I have all of the correct files(Im hoping) with the vmts. I've changed the directories yet the textures are STILLnot working I can just go on and on with everything but whats wrong this time? Can someone direct me to tutorials for importing models aswell? Wow... I think I just figured it out.
